Renault Tangier: Zero carbon rejection and zero liquid discharge, two assets for industrial
Veolia has introduced two innovative solutions in the Renault plant in Tangier, Morocco, to make it a global reference in fighting global warming. 100% of the site’s heating requirements are covered by a biomass boiler fed by olive pomace. The plant operates without releasing CO2 into the atmosphere. And in addition with a closed-loop water recycling process the plant has halved its water consumption per vehicle produced. A crucial benefit in an area subject to high water stress.
0 (zéro) CO²: the Renault Tangier site is the world's first carbon-neutral car plant - 135,000 tonnes of CO2 per year not released into the atmosphere.
Volkswagen Poznan: a foundry’s waste heat warms a city
PVolkswagen called on Veolia to help it reduce the energy footprint of its Poznan site in Poland. The Group has developed an innovative solution to recover the energy released by the plant foundry. The "waste" heat generated by the industrial process is captured and then directly fed back into the city’s heating network to supply 30 buildings. The site is now a benchmark for energy and environmental efficiency.

Le Mans Métropole: when waste becomes a resource
Veolia is helping Le Mans Métropole implement its energy transition policy. In fact, the Syner'Val energy recovery unit turns 97% of the household waste generated by the 400,000 inhabitants of the territory into energy. In total, the plant produces the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 3,500 homes and supplies 18,000 homes with renewable energy (heating and hot water). A solution that helps fight climate change by avoiding the emission of 46,000 tonnes of CO2 every year.
